Current Projects

Below is a list of the following project GCSD is currently working on:

  1. Solar panels at the Wastewater Plant.
  2. Expansion into Service Zones 3 & 4 (SWRCB DAC Grant Program).
  3. Complete Rehab of existing collection system and upgrading the WWTP (SWRCB DAC Grant Program).

Completed Projects

Since 2017 we have completed the following projects:

  1. Completion of a second Clarifier (Title 22 Requirement, Completed in 2017).
  2. Rehab on the Traveling Bridge Sand Filter (Title 22 Requirement, Completed in 2017).
  3. Implementing new monitoring equipment (Title 22 Requirement, Completed in 2018).
  4. Road Repair leading to the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Completed in 2019.
  5. Pond #1 repair( Completed in 2019).
  6. Installation of new Influent, Sand Filter, and Effluent flow meters(WDR Requirement Completed in 2018).
  7. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Upgrade. (Title 22 Requirement, Completed in 2018)
  8. 80' Tower for Internet and Radio Communications for SCADA System (Title 22 Requirement, Completed in 2018).
  9. Sewer Lift Station Rehab (Completed in 2019)
  10. Rehab Clarifier #1 (Completed in 2019)
  11. Installation of new Effluent Valves (Title 22 Requirement, Completed in 2019).
  12. Onsite Chlorine Generation (Completed in 2020).
  13. New WDR permit issued in April 2022.
  14. New control panel at lift station #2. (Completed in 2022)
Flow Meters

SCADA System Upgrade 
An industrial electrical control panel with various components like terminals, relays, and a UPS.
MCC Control Panel- This houses the PLC's and all of the connection required for the operations and monitoring of the WWTP

Chlorine Pumps- These are used to inject 12.5% chlorine into the chlorine contact chamber (CCC). Title 22 Regulations requires GCSD to maintain a minimum of a 2.0 mg/l residual at all times within the CCC.

Coagulation Pump- These inject coagulate into the water flowing into the clarifiers. The coagulate helps settle the heavy sludge that is present in the wastewater.

RAS/WAS Control Panel- These control the pumps that are either returning the activating sludge (RAS) or if we are wasting the sludge out of the system then it becomes waste activate sludge (WAS).

Internet Tower Project
